Kratom Apple-and-Orange Smoothie

Kratom is truly a wonder herb, but as many of its fans know, it comes with a big drawback, at least for people in the west—away from its native land, kratom leaves are sold only in dried and powdered versions, which leads to them acquiring a bitter, often gag-worthy taste. Fresh kratom leaves are not as unpleasant to the tongue, but they cannot make it across the oceans without some form of preservation: hence the dried kratom we are forced to use, which can be difficult to get (and for some, keep) down.

Fortunately, there are a lot of methods of taking kratom that make the taste and texture less noticeable, and one of the most popular of them is to prepare a drink into which the kratom can be mixed. Smoothies, in particular, are good options for kratom users, as they can take on a multitude of flavours and also take sweeteners (which help to “kill” the bitter taste of kratom) very well. Here we discuss a nice recipe for a sweet and fruity apple and orange smoothie. This recipe is easy to follow and can help you drink down your dose without gagging. It is best if it is served cold or chilled, as that helps to numb the tastebuds to the bitter flavour of the herb.

Apple-and-Orange Smoothie

First, get one orange and peel it, then cut it into smaller pieces (think of sections shorter than your thumb). Next, get one apple (whatever kind you prefer is fine) and peel it, then cut it in half. Put one half away for later use and cut up the other half into small portions again. Put the orange and apple pieces together in a blender. Work the fruit in pulses for about 30 seconds.

Now, add a half cup of orange juice to the mixture. Add the kratom powder next and pulse everything together again. Taste it and see if you still want to add some sugar to it. If not, you can take it out of the blender and pop it in the fridge or the freezer for a quick chill, then drink it once cold. You can also take it straight out of the blender if you have some ice cubes to help it chill to the right temperature.
