Itallian Spaghetti carbonara

Try this Italian pasta dish with a creamy sauce for a quick, simple meal for two.

Spaghetti CarbonaraIngredients

  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 free-range eggs
  • 150ml/5fl oz double cream
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 225g/8oz dried spaghetti
  • 150g/5oz smoked pancetta, cubed
  • 100g/3½oz pecorino or parmesan, grated
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh marjoram leaves or flatleaf parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large pan with salted water, boil the pasta according to packet instructions.
  2. In a large frying pan, heat the olive oil over a medium-high heat and fry the pancetta and garlic for about 2-3 minutes, until the pancetta is crisp and browned. Reduce the heat to low.
  3. Lightly beat the eggs with the cream in a bowl and most of the grated cheese, reserving a little cheese for later purposes. Then season with freshly ground black pepper.
  4. Drain the liquid from the cooked spaghetti noodles and reserving a few tablespoons of the cooking water.
  5. Pour into the pan the spaghetti noodles with the pancetta and pour in the cream and egg mixture. Mix it well over a very low heat then adding a little pasta water to loosen the mixture, if need.
  6. Place the pasta in a serving bowl and sprinkle it with the remaining cheese and chopped herbs.

  • 2 cups Greek Yogurt-low fat (Kefir)
  • 3 ripe peaches (2 cups frozen peaches)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup agave nectar
  • 1/2 teaspoon mint extract (freshly chopped mint)

 

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut into chunks the peaches.
  2. In a food processor, combine all the ingredients and blend until smooth.
  3. Add in the greek yogurt (Kefir) and mix well.
  4. Follow the instructions of the ice cream maker if your using and freeze. If not, beat after 2 hours and refreeze.

Banana Pancakes

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 50g butter, melted
  • 2 bananas, cut into disks
  • 1 cup wholemeal self-raising flour
  • 1/4 cup wholemeal self-raising flour (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a 1/4 cup of flour to coat dust the bananas.
  2. Mix in a bowl the batter by combining the 1 cup of flour with the egg. Sugar and milk whisking vigorously.
  3. Melt a small amount of butter in a a frying pan.
  4. Dip in the batter the banana disks and fry on each side until golden.

  • 1 kg beef spareribs
  • 1 head garlic
  • 1 large onions
  • 2 tablespoons gingerroot
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 0.50 cup soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Chinese wine
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seed
  • 1 tablespoon chilli-garlic sauce
  • 1 bunch leeks
  • 3.50 cups hot water

Instructions

  • On a large casserole saute the ginger in oil. Add and saute the onions until soft then the garlic.
  • Add and stir fry the beef spareribs until beef changes color.
  • Combine in a large bowl the soy, sugar, wine,sesame oil, chili garlic sauce and hot water. Mix well to blend.
  • The soy mix into the beef and allow to simmer on low heat for about 1 hour or atleast the beef is tender.
  • Add the toasted sesame seeds and chopped leeks, cook for 10 minutes and serve.

Peach Mango Smoothie

Apple-and-Orange Smoothie

First, get one orange and peel it, then cut it into smaller pieces (think of sections shorter than your thumb). Next, get one apple (whatever kind you prefer is fine) and peel it, then cut it in half. Put one half away for later use and cut up the other half into small portions again. Put the orange and apple pieces together in a blender. Work the fruit in pulses for about 30 seconds.

Now, add a half cup of orange juice to the mixture. Add the kratom powder next and pulse everything together again. Taste it and see if you still want to add some sugar to it. If not, you can take it out of the blender and pop it in the fridge or the freezer for a quick chill, then drink it once cold. You can also take it straight out of the blender if you have some ice cubes to help it chill to the right temperature.
